You could clean the pitting and apply some epoxy type
filler.  This is much harder than plain bondo.  Sand
or file it flat to match the surrounding machined
surface.  If you wanted you could even paint it with
an epoxy paint or some POR-15.  With such a smooth,
hard surface sealing should be no problem.  Or you
could glob it up with a whole tube of blue silicone. 
That's just how the pros do it.
