88 5000tq clutch

I have an 1988 5000 tq, Problem: when the car is running I cannot engage
gears, although I can if I force it.  The clutch feels the same and I
pressure bled the system, with no effect. It appears pressure is getting
to the slave because the hydraulic line is blugging and the slave seems
to make a bit of a squeal.  Is there anything else I should check or try
before I have to drop the gearbox out and buy new clutch parts.
