Switches or wiring would be my top suspects; I think the motor would
gradually die but not stop intermittently.

To test the switches, you can remove the switch from its socket and
jumper the socket contacts. Two jumper wires are needed, since power and
ground are swapped for up and down. (I can find the pin-out in the
Bentley if you need it.)

I agree with Kneale about the driver's door wiring. I found that the
large wire (red) that supplies +12V was breaking and made it
intermittent. I wish they had designed the wiring differently: it has to
bend the full angle of the door every time the door opens. My wife's
ovloV 240 puts the wiring in torsion instead: wires from the door meet
the body very low and rise up 6" or so before entering the cabin. Seems
like a better design to me, and I haven't had to fix it.
