Type 44 cabin ventilation (lack of)

If, like me, you're vertically challenged and horizontally over-endowed
(short & fat), it's no fun lying half on the seat, half on the doorsill
with your head in the footwell and no room to get your arms through the
opening between your belly and the glovebox, so you'll need to remove the
glovebox and attendant trim pieces. Then it's relatively straight forward
to take off the door, install something to hook the spring to (unless it's
the spring itself that broke--it's usually the plastic anchor for the
spring in the evaporator box) and reattach the door.
