Hi all,
I realize that the i4 motors have a timing belt tensioner(btdt on a few
1.8's), but the bentley says the 4K I5 (JT, KX, and NG) uses the water pump
pully as the tensioner. The drawings show the timing belt goes over the cam
pully, the crank pully, and the water pump pully. To adjust tension you
loosen the water pump, turn counter-clockwise to tighten the timing belt :-)
(bentley page 15.12-15.14)
<idle curiosity>
Is this a different procedure/parts than for the 5k I5's?</idle curiosity>
enjoy,
tom

it is running)
