turbo hose question

The intercooler-IM hose on my 83' UrQ has has started
to collapse a bit.  Could this be causing my engine to
stumble at idle?  

It is fine under power, but after idling for a bit, it
starts to stumble and even backfire a bit when I blip
the throttle to keep it from stalling.  Any ideas?

OXS sensor?
Collapsed hose?
Vacuum leak?
