'Nuther question about wagon struts

I realize the rear suspension between a front driver and a quat are about as
different as peanut butter and jelly (democrats and republicans?), but I
wanted to ask the following stupid question:

Can the rear strut assemblies from a front drive 5K wagon be used on a TQW?

Please don't blister me too bad, and Ti I know you just answered the
question about springs, but they _look_ similar and I had to ask.  Reason
for the inquiry is I found an 85 or 86 wagon wreck with brand new rear
struts, and it would be great to salvage the parts, but it's a front driver
and not a quat.
