4KQ Front Suspension Help Needed!

I've got the same noise on my 4KQ.  Also had it on my 4K.  Reputable shop
told me they thought it was the spring rotating (due to wear?).
Unfortunately I did not correct the annoyance before selling the car, so I
can't confirm if that was the actual cause.  I'll check out the ball joint,
but let me know if you find out another fix.
