Well it's good to know you are talking to AoA.  But the Dealer isn't really
"giving" you anything, assuming the car is worth a lot more than he's
offering you for it.  I believe one of their games is to make the cost of
repair seem so onerous that new car payments take on more appeal.  This is
just an opinion of course, and talk is cheap.  But Audi dealer's are
notorious for skinning people alive when it comes to things like this.  Why
not put the car up for auction on E-Bay, describe the problem, and with a
reserve of whatever the dealer is offering for it ($4,000?).
