4kq VIN question

Hi Aaron--

I'm a little confused on your post.  You list one digit..."digit 5" but then
have two numbers in question ( 85 and 81).  Wouldn't and 85 and an 81 take
up two digits??  I assume that the 1 or 5 must be the fifth digit.  Anywho,
the fifth digit should be an engine code.  If the 8 is the four position it
should be a "bodystyle by model" code.  But then again...that could be
completely wrong on a 4000 :-)
