R-12 conversion to R134 ... BTDT? Any regrets? Recommendations?

Did the cheap conversion on a couple of cars. Pretty straight forward and
they have been running for three years now with no obvious ill effects. One
has a noisy compressor, but that was the case before the convert. Overall
cooling does not seem as good, but I think this could be overcome with a
spal or other type of fan mounted on the condensor. Considering that you
can run down to Sams club and buy a 30lb tank without some type of military
clearence, makes the conversion all the more appealing.
Good luck,
Dave
