Wheels/Tires for 89 200Q

I'm running A4 16 x 7 sport wheels and Kumho 712's 205/55-16s. There is
virtually NO clearance (about a credit card's worth) between the steering
knuckle and the inside of the front tires (could be cured by using A8 16
x 7's which are 37 mm offset vs 45mm) or by spacers. In the rear there
appears to be about 1/8 to 1/4 inch, BUT I've never fully loaded the car
to see if it's really as much as that. Due to the wear pattern I'm
getting in the back, I'd hesitate trying to increase negative camber to
increase clearance, at least if I expect to either: a) not rotate tires
every 1500 miles
			b) expect the tires to last more than 15K miles
So, with the limit seems to be about a 205 (maybe MAYBE a 215 tire, with
spacers up front and more negative camber in the rear with lots of
experience in changing tires) on 16 x 17s 45 offset at least. My BTDT.
