OK to run 5kcstq w/o alternator present?

Hi all,

I have to move my 5kcstq, which is currently without an alternator.  
I took it out because it is bad.

I was wondering if it is okay if I start and run the car off of battery 
power so that I can drive it onto the car trailer.

If anyone has any info, I'd appreciate it.  I'll check my email later 
today, before I move it.  (please cc me directly with any replies)
