You certainly can. And you can also visit NHTSA/DOT web site to see the
recall list and complain list. You'll find under most conditions, Audi has
no more recalls and complaints than Subaru. And some are definitely
non-Audi. e.g. Almost half of complaints on S4 are related (and only on)
to tires.
And if you're looking at Subaru WRX... If I were you, I'd either wait for
Mitsubishi EVO (a lot better looking and will eat WRX any day) or for the
real WRX -- WRX STi, which Subaru is rumored to bring to U.S. if Mitsu EVO
does show up.
