FS: '83 UrQ drivable project with parts package

Always wanted to own a UrQ, but couldn't afford it? Then here's your
car. This is likely the cheapest running and driving UrQ you'll find for
sale... and it's a complete package. The car (and stuff) was purchased
for my teenager to work on and drive. It needs several things, but very
little that would have kept him from driving it while he improved it.
(He decided instead to buy a cheap Isuzu Impulse RS awd with a blown
engine... neat car, but a poor choice on his part.)

The car: 1983 UrQ from CA. Don't get too excited; it spent its
initial life in Denver, so there is some rust. Silver (needing paint
badly) with a serviceable brown leather interior. (The rear seat is
pretty good; the passenger seat is dry and cracked, the driver's seat is
the same except for pretty bad damage to the outer bolster) The dash has
the usual cracks. The odometer shows about 112,000 miles. True mileage
unknown... this could be right.

The best thing: the car has a new head... the correct WX head and cam.
(A similar head job in my '85 was almost $2500 and I couldn't even find
the right head!) It appears the timing belt and water pump were also
done. The engine runs and sounds better than my '85 and I've never even
checked the plugs. The gearbox is tight; the clutch is great. The car is
mechanically bone stock. New brushes in the alternator. New battery. The
windshield looks new. Brand new all season tires (Really new... I'm
mounting them tomorrow!) The car is licensed and insured.

What isn't so good:  I mentioned it has some rust (almost all cosmetic;
nothing structural; floorpan and trunk are solid), needs paint. What
doesn't work: rear turn signals, AC, cruise (mostly missing), injector
fan (missing) the Acura am/fm/cass, rear wiper. The brakes seem soft
(as compared to my '85) but work well. The right rear parking brake
hangs on; I think it's the cable. I haven't bled the brakes or
investigated any more. Diffs don't lock... I think there's no vacuum
going to the switch... which has been mounted in a gauge panel. The
steering rack leaks (just a little worse than my '85) and the pump makes
some noise. Could use a sunroof seal. IMO only the lights keep it from
being a driver.

I mentioned it was a complete kit: here's what I'll throw in with it: a
good used set of Eibach springs and Blisten Turbo shocks, an Intended
Acceleration Stage 1 computer (just tested in my '85... works identical
to mine); a set of almost new Euro H4 lights (currently on my '85), a
set of G60 calipers and carriers, a new custom (fabric) dash cover, a
rear emergency brake cable (and a rear caliper if that's the problem),
an OEM stereo (condition unknown), cruise system from an '84 4kQ, and a
complete grey leather interior from an '86 4kq (including the later diff
lock panel, but not including dash or console) if you want to do the
conversion. I won't list out the values of all this stuff, you guys know
what it's worth.

I haven't even waxed the car to make it easier for someone to repaint (I
HATE stripping fresh wax before prepping a car to paint) and I haven't
tried to hide or fix ANY of the rust. So you'll know what you're
getting. I should have pix up by this time tomorrow. If I get no
interest from the List (pretty quickly) I'll make the car look better,
fix the lights, and put it on Ebay. But I would much rather it go to a
good home with a Q-lister...

So here's the deal: $4000 cash, (firm, non-negotiable). You get
everything listed above. If you want just the car, I'll consider
splitting stuff up... but I won't sell the parts separately. I'm
basically selling you the car for what I have in it and then giving you
all the other stuff for free!

I'll also have a decent '86 4kQ for sale in the next couple of weeks.
Haven't yet gotten it out of storage. Almost $1000 in recent work and
$700 in wheels and tires; will sell for about $2200.

I have a nice MGB GT on Ebay right now:

I'm trying to simplify my life... but mostly quit paying big bucks for
storage!

Thanks for reading!
