Gauge Pods?

I'm toying with taking on yet another never ending project to
create a gauge pod which would mount in place of the dash
mounted speaker. I looked over the A-pillar idea and decided
that would be difficult by comparison. (On the basis of opinions
expressed on this list by audio buffs, the dash speakers are
not worth bothering with during a sound system upgrade which
is also incrementally progressing.) I think a 3 or 4 inch tall
structure there would hold a couple usefully sized gauges.
Tentatively, these would be EGT and Boost.
