R-12 conversion to R134 ... BTDT? Any regrets? Recommendations?

Whether they have an agreement or not, the fact is that R12 is still
being produced in large quantities, as is excellent (but banned) fire
extinquisher halon 1301. Producing countries and manufacturers will
supply any necessary certificates that the products are recycled etc.
Current prices for european delivery from a certain Asian country is
US$2.64 per kg for CFC12 and US$8.79 per kg for halon 1301. I am in the
export/import business (no, I don't deal with this stuff) and asked an
associate at a business lunch for prices/availability. Prices are above,
availability - as much as you need.

There are plenty of options for R12, but from speaking with military and
transport pilots, there are very few who feel comfortable flying with
non-halon fire extinguishing systems on board...

Just facts, not debate fodder. No opinions expressed.
