When I replaced the pump on my 200q20v, I also was replacing the 
pump-to-rack hose, so I had to remove the reservoir (no room for short, fat 
folks' arms in that area), so I just drained it, drained all the hoses 
except the one to the "bomb" and the return hose from the rack, then, after 
being sure there was fluid in the pump, I closed it all up and topped up 
the reservoir.
