East coast rust/ was: Painful price quotes

Well yes the fittings themselves are not rustproofed, however i have NEVER
seen a type 44 with rusted out doors or wheelwells which is a very common
thing with many other cars.. american or foreign cars...  I thought thats
what we were talking about.  To get a completely rust proof car you would
have to use stainless steel fittings everywhere, and that would be quite
expensive.

...except on the undercarriage of the New England or salt state cars.  Both
of mine are salty northern cars - sedan from W.V. and the TQW from NJ/PA.
Rusty fittings abound.

My recently departed 88 5kcstq parts car, OTOH, was a southern car all it's
life and no rust at all.
