Are 4kq speedo heads repairable?

this is not the case on my car, (87 4kq) I thought it is safe to say
that the '86 is the same. The there are two inputs into the unit, a
cable for the odometer, and two wires for the speedometer. The '85's and
before the may have a mechanical speedo, I don't know, but the
speedometers in the 87's are clearly electronically controlled. (The
speedo works just fine without a odometer cable connected)
