How to remove CGT Sill Mouldings?

    I wonder if anyone could tell me how to remove the sill mouldings fitted
to my '87 Euro spec CGT.

    I've got a feeling that the americans on the list use a different word
for sills than us in the uk, so if any one could let me know what that word
is I may be more likely to get a helpful reply, but anyway what I call a
sill is the panel that runs below the door(s) from front to back of the car.
What i want to do is remove the factory ( plastic?/abs?/glassfibre?)
mouldings, that cover the sills on this model, remove grime, check for rust,
and refit the mouldings. However I obviously don't want to start the job
unless I know i can get them back on looking as untouched and well fitted as
they do now.

    By the way the car is currently on 99,996 miles so i'm planning this job
as a 100k treat and also to stop it sulking 'cos I've used the Avant nearly
all the time since I got it!


    By the way, all you U.S. guys , what's going on with your economy, do we
need to worry over here?!
