Yes,  I am sorry I wasn't specific enough.  The speed  is measured fine, it
is the odometer measure that is mostly dead and working occassionally.  So,
if I can rephase my question, maybe that could help.

Thanks for all replys so far.   And thanks for replying to clarification as
to weather anyone has fixed this problem.  Is this a problem with the
plastic gear mentioned by a couple of listers?  I should say too, that this
is a Canadian car and does not have the Oxygen sensor mileage counter.
