Clint,
First of all, I'll be curious to see your other responses. I intend to
upgrade my brakes in the future as well. You can upgrade to G60 brakes
(from the 5ktq), but I believe that requires using 90 struts. Alexander Van
Gerbig came up with a 4-bolt solution to install the BIRA system
(www.bira.org), but once again that will require you to install 90 struts
and cost around $1500 if I recall. 2Bennett (www.2bennett.com) offers a
4-piston Brembo kit complete with stainless lines, mounting brackets, and
fluid for $2000. It's pretty expensive, but I think it's the only bolt-on
option available. I figure for the time and effort of jerking around with
the BIRA system on a 4kq I'd rather get the 2B setup. That's what I plan to
get unless BIRA comes up with something better. Hope this helps.
Aaron

I'm sure this is a tired subject, but looking through the archives is too.
What options are there to upgrade (bigger discs, mutiple piston calipers) on
an 85-87 4kq using factory parts for any import auto? It dosen't matter to
me if the parts are Audi/VW or Acura to Volvo. What did you use, and were
you satisfied with the results? No matter the "upgrade", It will probably
get slotted/drilled rotors as well.
Thank you for your time,
Clint
