Yeah, by the time you start it up for the first time, all that oil will 
have drained down into the pan. Build lube stayed put.

They came in those little baggies filled with oily goo, remember?
I doubt that would help much on startup though, for the same reason as above.

Oh yeah, I knew we forgot something...Hmmmm...The car hasn't blown up yet, 
so I guess using the new bearing shells made the engine go vrooom.

I'm into my 1100 mile by now, and I have one more oil change to go through 
(doing it every 500) before I switch back to synth.  This is not because I 
have some mystical break-in procedure, but because I bought a big box of 
Mobil 10w-30. I'm going to switch back to Mobil1 15w-50 as soon as I can.

Don't know if was just the lifters, or the whole rebuilt engine, or the oil 
baffling and cam cover baffling, but my lifters don't clack anymore when I 
run 10w-30 and drive like a maniac. Pretty nifty.
