rear end squeaks/suspension upgrade? (1989 90q)

Hello all,

Over the past couple of weeks, my 1989 90q has developed some squeaks in the
rear.  The car squeaks especially when I push in the clutch to shift gears,
or when I let the car slow down while in gear.  Squeaks are also present
over some, but not all bumps.  When the car is parked and I push down on the
bumper/trunk I also get a creeking noise coming from what seems to be both
sides.  Any BTDT on repairing/masking squeaks for about 2 or 3 weeks?  In a
couple of weeks I plan on suspension upgrades:  any experience with the
2bennett coil-overs vs. ground-control or vortrag?  What else should I
replace in the realm of strut mounts, bushings, etc. while I've got the car
apart?  Also, are there any sites detailing the process and how labor
intensive is the work?  I know that the ground-control coilover kit requires
welding new spring perches on.
