weird starting problem

Does the 5k have a valve in the fuel line that maintains pressure, or if
failing, releases the fuel pressure? I guess leaking injectors might do
the same. Or a vacuum leak, though it doesn't initially sound like it.
Sounds like a fuel pressure problem if a second go around gets it running.
But always good to check for vacuum leaks on the older turbos.
