Fellow Audifans,

I just bought a 94 100S for what I consider a bargain. My brother's boss was going to trade it in for an A8 and was willing to sell it for the price the dealer offered: $5250. Without ever seeing even a picture of the car, I flew down to New Orleans and snatched it up. It is Pearl white with beige Ecru leather and 4 speed auto and was very well cared for. I have the window sticker here and I'm amazed to see the MSRP was $38,295. Talk about depreciation! It is so clean, the usually unbearable drive back to Texas was pure joy. Okay, enough bragging, now a question: BOTH headlights have a single bullseye chip and there is water in them. I imagine that they are pretty expensive to replace (anyone BTDT recently?), so I was wondering if they could be safely repaired, like with resin or something. A web search showed me many professional kits which claim to do just that, but the few local glass repair places I called had never done such work. For now I'm going to dry them out and put some clear tape over the holes in hopes of passing the inspection. What about Stongard? I suppose that would cover the holes as well, but I don't think I'd like the look, or be willing to pay 60 bucks for it.

My 87.5 Coupe GT will be for sale shortly. As the instrument panel has been replaced (its digital), I really have no idea how many miles are on it. If I were forced to guess, I would say 100K miles. The title says "odometer reading exempt". It is Tornado red, tan leather (front seats are really worn, back seat is very good), dash is perfect, a few surface rust spots but nothing major. It does have a good number of dings and would be painted if I were to keep the car. Mechanically it is very sound.
Strong motor, type NG. It is much quicker than my new(er) Audi. Less than 10K miles ago I put on new Boge pro-gas shocks, tie-rod ends, ball joints, and all the bushings except for the subframe and control arm (I think I have them somewhere). New CV boots. Two months ago I installed Hella H4 eurolights. Two years ago installed a Sanden rotary ac compressor, a retrofit from the stock York unit. It runs R-12 and blows really cold, but sometimes the engine will stall with ac on at stoplights. New timing belt, water pump, lifters, fuel pump, and expansion tank. It has the stock alloy wheels, which I would also replace eventually as they are somewhat bent (a little shuddering around 60 mph). Sumitomo HTR-100 tires have 75% tread left. Thats about all that comes to mind right now, email for more details. When I get more serious I will post web pictures, but for now I'll email some on request. I'm gonna put her in the AutoTrader and ask $2000 obo (my car-price evaluation system has been tainted by my recent purchase, but I think its a fair price). Car is in sunny San Antonio, Texas.
For those with CarFax service, here is the VIN (I would be curious to see the report, BTW): WAUBE0850HA028667
I will sorely miss this car - it's been loads of fun.
