Most type 85 4000/Coupes use ATF Dexron II, but some comes factory filled
with the hydraulic fluid G 002 000.  You can't mix the two.  Check if the
reservoir has a sticker on it that specifies the G 002 000 fluid.  If not
then it's probably ATF.

BTW, the G 002 000 can be used in lieu of ATF on all Audi steering systems
if the old ATF is flushed clean.  However, if the system works with ATF,
it's the (much) cheaper way to go.  The reverse is not true, however.
You can't use ATF on cars that specifies the G 002 000.
