has anyone had any luck refurbishing an after-run coolant pump? after
stripping the cooling system on the ur-q, it appears that the pump is
deceased. 12v applied to the thing when in a bucket of water causes it to
make encouraging noises, but there is no pump action. i have stripped it,
and found that the electric motor had seized on the shaft - due to fluid
ingress - not sure how. still, with some tlc, and some lithium grease, it
now seems ok. has anyone had any luck in refurbishing these little suckers?
btw, the pump is the same model on the mb and rr. the audi # is 034 965
561c, does anyone have an bosch number (it is not in my records from bosch,
nor on the unit).
on a separate topic - i note that the 20v doesn't appear to have a fuse in
the fan circuit. i notice from scot mo's excellent site, that there is a
"retrofit kit" available from audi. has anyone retrofitted a fuse to a 20v,
and want to share the btdt?
thanks
