<< Anyone have anything nice or horrible to say about Wilwood Superlite and
Dynalite 4-pot calipers? I know they're racing calipers and will
probably be the kind to need a rebuild every year if used on the road.
Or is that just a rumour? I see the units weigh in at about 2lbs. which
is nice for some reason, I guess.

My dad runs Wilwood calipers (4 pot) on his 88 M5 - they're not as good as
they should be. Lighter, yes, but it seems that they actually flex under
hard braking, as the pad wear is uneven, and braking is just not as good as
it should be (13 inch brakes, complete overhaul and larger master, wilwoods,
custom ducting, etc.). However, they're cheap and light. Supposedly, the 6
piston ones are much better and more rigid. If I had the money (and don't
right now, but will at somepoint) I'd drop the money on Brembos or Porsche
(ie, Brembo) calipers- they're worth it. Or, if you're serious, AP Racing.
But your bank account better be serious too.
Later!
