200tq rear struts+dashpot questions

Hi listers.

I am going to replace rear struts on 200tqw '89. I am waiting for spring
compressor to come.  I'd like to have all parts before I started the job
cause I can't keep the car on jacks for long time  on the parking lot
where I usually work on it.  What other parts should I expect to replace
besides struts themselves?

Another questios are: what is dashpot and what is it for?
