4kq issues

It's been an arduous couple of weeks culminating with the death of my
niece, so I have been playing catch-up with all my projects.
Anyway, following the acquisition of two 4kq's including a blue '85 4kq
which will become project 4kq instead of my wifes daily driver, and the
second one will be relegated to a parts car.
I have been preparing my wife's car for some long distance driving as my
father will be driving it to Florida for some months, and I want the car in
top notch condition.
So, I have these issues:
1) 4 spare instrument clusters, none with an odometer that actually works.
Does anyone have some pictures or description of which gear I need to put
the locktight on to fix one of these?
2) I thought all the '85 and subsequent 4kq's had the trip computer built
into the instrument cluster, but it turns out I have 4 without trip
computer, and 2 ICs with trip computer and only one works properly. So,
does anyone have a complete working IC fro 4kq with trip computer.
Alternatively I can put parts together, but need one tack with trip
computer, and one working speedo/odo.
3) I charged the AC on the silver being driven to Florida, but the
compressor kicks on for about 5 seconds, then off again for about 1 min. I
can hot wire the compressor to stay on contiuously, so am wondering what
potential culprits I may be able to fix to get the AC to cycle properly.
4) The AC problem seems to be compounded by hot air coming from the side
vents and defrost when car is warm. I checked the heater valve control
works to close the valve. Is this a shot heater control valve? I'm
wondering if I should bypass the heater core altogether.
