Tried that with new cables on my two syncros, didn't seem to help.  There
used to be a device for lubricating bicycle cables, clamped onto the end and
forced lube through it.  Perhaps I can find/make such a thing.  Meanwhile,
it's an emergency, one-use brake, or I eventually trash a caliper and maybe
more.

My q isn't a daily driver, it gets 200-400 miles of highway cruising several
times a month.  Lack of a parking brake hasn't been a concern, but will be
when my daughter turns 16.
