Incredible, isn't! Why sell a 40mpg Turbo-Diesel A6 when you can market a
popular gas-guzzling SUV. I've heard the excuses for not importing TDI
powered cars: poor quality Diesel fuel in the US, clean-air standards,
Federal crash testing standards, Diesel noise, hard starting in cold
weather, etc! There's a move by the Feds to require from the Oil companies
a cleaner burning Diesel fuel. Of course the Oil companies are resisting.

VW sells each 'n every TDI brought into USA. BTW, VW's 3-cylinder
Turbo-Diesel Lupo sqeezes 90mpg on European roadways.
