OOPS - OK then, well, I guess I dont have to worry about the ride being too
spongy then..as Konis specials are on the way.
Sounds like I might not order the Koni Sports for the other wagon.
The price is right at shox.com - rears are $91 a shock.

[ Hi Ben,
About 8 years ago I put a set of Koni "reds" in my '87 5kCSQ. They were
the only people, at the time, that made a matched set for my car. I had
tried some Boge Pro or Turbo gas shocks from Blau, but they didn't fit
5k's, only 200's, and had to be returned. Koni told me that on the
softest setting they, the "reds", would be 25% stiffer than OEM and
they were not kidding. Eight years later and the ride is still harsh,
especially in the winter as they are purely hydraulic shocks. It is my
belief that the 5kCSQ's suspension is designed for gas shocks, not 100%
hydraulics. If you were to change the springs out then the Konis might
be a good choice, but any ride quality that the car possessed went out
the window with the Koni "reds"...IMHO. But I do not know what the
difference is between the "reds" and the "specials" ...if any; and I do
not have the part numbers I installed readily available.
HTH,
Shef
