After a fairly nice two week vacation the Audi had had enough and would
not go into any gear about 25miles from home. I left it parked in a hay
field and am in the process of going to retrieve it.
I took the cover off the gearshift and it just flops around. My guess,
after looking at the Bently, is that the clamp that holds the shift rod
to the shift assembly lost its nut and bolt and is just flopping around.
Plan of attack is to go out there with a handful of assorted nuts and
bolts and see if I can refasten the rod to the assembly.
Can anyone tell me how to gain the easiest access to the assembly and
rod ?
Is this a possible roadside repair with standard jack and jack stands?
Thankyou for any replys,
Donald
