Michael-
One question- what are your thoughts on the reverse setup-
using a 30mm thick rotor with a caliper designed for a 28mm
rotor and with a couple pins filed down 1mm each? This is
the setup used on one of the BIRA setups and is the reverse
of what you're talking about.
I don't think there are any BIRA designs that use a 993tt
caliper at all, the 996 and 986 calipers are used w/ 30mm
and 25mm thick rotors, respectively. The only rotor that
sounds like what you're talking about is the System 6, but
that uses the 996tt calipers in conjunction with 993tt rotor
rings and a custom hat, so no problems w/ thickness there.
The Mov'it, 2Bennett and Euro-Car designs all utilize the
993tt caliper with a 30mm thick rotor, that would be a problem
as you state.
Regards,
Taka
