VDO sender threads

Before you go out and spend money, think.  You MUST purchase a sender made
for your specific instrument. Many are gonna be 1/8" NPT, or a metric size
so close you can't tell.  A few are 10mm x 1.0 straight (as opposed to
tapered) thread and use a copper washer.  They're sold as sets, so it makes
sense to choose the gauge/sender package you want, not just a gauge and a
random sender.  If you get an Audi or VW gauge from a boneyard, get the
accompanying sender.  If you can't get the sender, identify the year and
model car the instrument came from so you can order the right part.  HTH,
