Introducing a new member to the Audi family.

Just thought I'd mention that I bought a black '92 2.3E Coupe at the
weekend, it has 90K on the clock. It has only taken about 9 months to find
the car I'm looking for, having said that there are a few things mechanical
and cosmetic that need attention. I'm most impressed with the car's low end
torque and handling so far, much better than my '92 2.0 80,

Mechanically it needs a replacement steer gaitor, hopefully this is too far
gone to necessitate a new rack. An offside CV boot, and the offside rear
caliper doesn't work - please let it be the cable rather than the caliper,
unlikely though.
The rear wiper/washer doesn't work, I'm hoping that's just the relay and not
the stalk switch.

Cosmetically there are a few things that bug me. There is a hole in the
drivers side carpet caused by a stilletto I'd guess - If I were to get a new
carpet would it be for the entire floor or just the drivers side floor pan?
The boot has water ingress as expected, the drivers side armrest is
"deflated" - it appears that the material inside has collapsed, never seen
this before - Any BTDTs?
The driver's side is a little bobbled, I seem to think I have read on the
list that the bobbles can be shaved off to fix this. Is this true,
unfortunately I no longer have internet access to check the archives.

Any help and advice is always gratefully received.

Many thanks
Robert Stirrat

At last I can list more than one car for the moment - I feel like a real
lister now!
