Warrantee for O2 sensor

What is the warrantee period for the O2 sensor on a '98 A6 Avant ?
I have one post cat that has failed and thought that they were covered for 8
years/80,000 miles but a dealer is telling me 3 years/50,000 miles. My
warrantee book is clear about the cats and control unit being covered for
the longer time but is unclear about the sensors themselves.
