Oil leaks in '98 A4Q Avant

Are leaking gaskets & seals a common problem in the '98 A4's?

I just had state inspection done on my recently acquired '98 A4Q Avant
(58,000 miles). My mechanic said that the car was in nice shape, but he did
notice several oil leaks. The engine was to be leaking from either the
crank sensor, oil pan or rear main seal (he couldn't tell which), the
transmission (manual) was leaking from where the extension cone mounts to
the transmission housing, and the rear diff was leaking from the axle
shafts.

All of these items should be covered under my warranty, although now the
dealer seems to be trying to back out on it and has stated that he may just
buy the car back from me (although the warranty contract doesn't state that
as an option). It seems that he would rather screw someone else than get
the problem fixed. But I digress.....

Anyway, have any others out there had these cars leaking out of every organ?

Any ball park idea on cost to fix (at the dealer)?

Thanks!
