A4 carrier tool

Say,

Planning ahead to the T-belt replacement my A4 is already due for and will get
in the spring, Haynes says I should provide myself with two threaded rods to
hold the front clip with, after it's pulled away to make room. ("Front clip"
isn't the term they use; I think they call it a "carrier lock" or some such.
Anyway, it's the structure that holds the bumper, radiator and headlights.
You pull it forward a few inches to get at the front of the block.)

So anyhow this "thread support tool," VAG 3369, is called for. Unfortunately
it's not described in detail. Can anyone describe it well enough to enable
the rest of us to get duplicates made up?

thanks!
