I could not help but chime in on this thread........ My Auto history is as =
follows

First car was a 1985 Audi 5000 CS Turbo (Non Quattro). Thanks to 60 Minutes=
I was able to acquire it for 5,000 in 1989 and my love affair with Audi be=
gan.I drove this car to 120,000 miles before the Automatic transmission let=
go. I could not afford to fix it because I had just graduated from college=
and had not found employment yet. I did a short stint in a 1988 Pontiac (G=
ulp) Firebird......... This marvel of American Iron only reinforced just ho=
w far superior the Audi's were. The Firebird with a V8 5.0L engine could on=
ly manage to pump out about 170 HP )-:

My Second car was a 1986 5000S (Non Turbo Non Quattro) which I drove for 2 =
years before selling it to purchase a 1987 5000CS Turbo Quattro. I drove Th=
e Quattro for 3 years and clocked over 168,000 miles.

Having now attained "Gainful" employment I decided to give the A series a g=
o with a 1995 A6 Non Quattro. I was smitten for the first 2 months with the=
A6, then all the little things started to make me yearn for the old 5kTQ. =
The V6 engine (2-Valve) in the A6 was almost as loathsome as the V8 was in =
my old Firebird !!!! Also the A6 car was not a Quattro, and I had under est=
imated how much I had come to depend on the go any where confidence the Qua=
ttro gave me. So I sold the A6 after 2 years and purchased a 1990 200 turbo=
Quattro. I quickly modified it to make 1.8 Bar (11 PSI) of boost !!!!!!.

I drove the 200 Quat for 1 year before falling across an awesome deal on an=
 A4 Quattro 2.8L V6 with a factory sport suspension ( http://www.selecttr.c=
om/ ) I can honestly say the A4 is the finest Audi I have ever driven. The =
only improvement would be to put the 20-Valve In Line 5-Cylinder Turbo engi=
ne in the car in place of the 2.8L V6. But in all honesty the V6 is more th=
an adequate in the less bulky A4, and the newer 30-Valve V6 is even more im=
pressive.

My point in all this self serving nostalgia is to drive home the point that=
not everyone driving "A" cars lack an understanding of the history of Audi=
or the Auto Union for that matter. However I have serious doubts about the=
 TT Crowd........(-;

P.S. If any one knows where I can purchase a DKW Motorcycle please let me k=
now !!!!
