Fuel Pump Replacement on a V8 - Weird!

Hi all,

I removed my fuel pump today...big thanks to all that gave me insight on the
job, by the way, I found it a fairly easy job and no special tools were
required.

Upon removing the pump, I opened the replacement pump only to find it was
considerably smaller and the connections are totally different.  I ordered
the pump from a respected source on the list so I am confused as to why they
are so different.  Did Audi change the pump type and are there special
attachments necessary to make the new pump fit, or did I just get the wrong
pump (8A0 906 091 G)?

As always, any help will be greatly appreciated.
