I used the rear when I installed my Sony head unit. The rear is the only
one with AM antenna (if AM reception is important to you). You must
remember to supply power to the antenna amplifier however.
The AM/FM reception is as good as it ever was with the stock radio. I came
across a dual-diversity conversion kit on a web site once but for the life
of me I cannot find it again :^(

I suggest using the front, the rear defroster doesn't interfere with
it. in fact, I think the defroster *turns off* the rear antenna but I
might be hallucinating.
