the archives. Sorry for the extra WOB, it looked
bad! I've got rich text and MIME features
definitely turned off...]

Hello,

I was at the local Audi dealer (Scottsdale Audi), and got a price quote
on some 2 piece exhaust manifold pieces. The prices are higher than
Carlsen for sure. As a matter of fact, the "list" and "net" columns on
my quote are the same price! I plugged them into my earlier post below.

Part number Carlsen Scottsdale
> 034 129 591 AC 404.95 557.72
> 034 129 592 266.40 366.89
> 034 129 933 (2 required) 12.78 19.17
> 034 129 995 (2 required) 6.34 9.52
> 034 129 903 42.57 63.86
> 034 145 880 ?????

These parts weren't in the Carlsen quote:
035 145 880 Support ???? 105.12
N 013 812 8 Washer 502D ???? 0.64
N 016 153 1 Carrier ???? 3.45

Note that the previously bad part number 034 145
880 was probably supposed to be 035 145 880, which
is the support bracket.

Total $1174.23 + 78.38 tax for $1255.26 out the
door. $319.12 more expensive than the parts that I
got quoted from Carlsen. There were more parts
included in the Scottsdale Audi quote, which aren't
included in that difference.

I hope I got that math right. The quote I got
included only one 034 129 933 clamp, so I had to
work the numbers a bit.

If the price of the support bracket from Carlsen is
also the same average percentage of the price from
Scottsdale, then it should be somewhere around
$75.76 instead of $105.12 (about 72% of the higher
price is what Carlsen seems to offer) This makes
my unofficial total before tax $832.01, including
the calculated bracket cost and washer/plug at
"full" price.

Here is an excerpt of an excellent post by Igor
Kessel, back in '98. It includes a more complete
listing of p/n's. Here is the post address:
