I tend to think so. The people that post on Audiworld tend to be
those who would mod their cars and/or otherwise thrash their engines.
Not to say that this particular case is one (I haven't read the
Audiworld post yet). I hate to generalize but when you read a forum
like that you have to consider the population who post on it. Moreover,
those who have problems would post and whine, whereas there is likely
to be a much larger group without problems keeping quiet.

I am going to do a write-up of my 1-year anniversary with my neu-S4.
In short, no problem with the turbos here (or for that matter, anything
having to do with the engine or drivetrain, knock on wood). I do
drive gently until fully warmed up, and observe a idle-cooldown if the
drive was moderately spirited or prolonged. I only really gun it
when provoked. And speaking of being provoked, it seems that I get
"the challenge" a lot from Bimmers and Camaros. The S4 has not let me
down yet :-).
