MC with valve cover off...

Hi,

Can I run an MC I5 with the valve cover off, at low rpms, without making too
much of a mess?  Any BTDT advice?

I want to see what is going on with the distributor gear.  I have a vicious
clicking somewhere in the distributor drive setup.  I'm worried this is what
caused my Hall Sensor failure a little while ago.
