I had similar problem with my 88 5kq . . . pocket was ripped off, previous
owner glued it back with silicone rubber cement.

The original attachment is made by melting pocket plastic studs on the
inside of door panel. The finished job looks like a riveting operation.

To fix my pocket I did the following:
1. Remove door panel
2. Clean up area where studs were . . remove old remaining plastic, and
plastic washers.
3. Remove glue from pocket and panel . .. most likely its silicone rubber or
the like.
4. Drill small hole(a tad smaller than diameter of screw shank) in end of
pocket studs . .. for use of short sheet metal screws. The inside of the
stud is hallow . . so you want maximim holding power.
5. Position pocket in panel
6. Attach pocket using washers and sheet metal screws.

If ends of pocket studs are ripped off . . fill enterior of hallow stud with
epoxy . .. let dry . . .then drill the holes. Use larger drill size than in
step 4 above . . .otherwise you may split the stud when putting in screw.
