Don't worry Eyvind, you may be able to have a better glimpse next
year, or the year after that, etc. Bunch of garbage left behind by a
comet running "rich" that crossed our beloved earth's line of traffic
(orbit) not too long ago. Left behind particles about the size of
grains of sand. Who gets the best view is determined by the
orientation of mother earth as she passes through this heavenly mess.
Your part of the earth has to be pointing right at it when passing
through for best effect. Atlantic Standard Time for the event was from
5 to 7 AM. There were two things against us in Nova Scotia, it was
starting to get light out, and it was friggin' cloudy. I got up, had a
look, and went back to snoozeville. Each year that goes by gets less
spectacular as more and more of the bits get vaporized.
